Stop repeating the past and start creating the relationships and life you want.

When you’re carrying it all, something’s bound to break

If anxiety, burnout, impostor syndrome, or the feeling that you’re never enough is taking over, you’re in the right place.

You’re the reliable one—at work, at home, in your relationships—but beneath the polished exterior, you’re exhausted and coming undone. You’re on autopilot, ignoring all the “check engine” signals your body is giving you.

Maybe you avoid conflict, struggle to trust yourself, or wonder why you’ve never felt truly settled and safe in love. You’ve reached a breaking point in your life. People around you are begging you to finally get help for yourself, instead of putting everyone else first.

It feels like a crisis moment for your health, your career, your relationships, and your life. Things won’t magically get better unless you make a change. You don’t have to do it alone.

Together, we’ll uncover the patterns keeping you stuck, and help you step into a life where you feel confident, clear, and empowered to ask for—and receive—what you truly deserve.

You deserve a space where you can:

  • Understand what’s really keeping you from peace

  • Heal old stress patterns held in your body and mind

  • Build confidence and emotional resilience

  • Create relationships that feel safe and meaningful

What is an EMDR Therapy Intensive? A Deeper, Accelerated Path to Healing

Effective Treatment for Anxiety, Trauma & Burnout

An EMDR intensive is a longer-format therapy experience (typically 3–5 hours per day or multi-day) that allows you to process trauma more deeply and efficiently than traditional weekly sessions.

As a holistic trauma therapist specializing in EMDR therapy and EMDR intensives, I help clients break free from cycles of worry, self-doubt, and stress that interfere with daily life. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps your nervous system process distressing or traumatic experiences so you can live more fully in the present.

EMDR Intensives for Faster Progress

If traditional weekly sessions aren’t giving you the change you want, EMDR intensives offer focused, immersive healing in a shorter time frame — helping you shift patterns of anxiety, perfectionism, and relational hurt more quickly than weekly therapy alone.

Clients often choose intensives when they’re:

  • Exhausted from holding everything together

  • Stuck in repeating emotional or relational patterns

  • Ready for significant progress in a supported format

  • Looking for clarity and long-lasting results

  • Find weekly therapy either ineffective or impossible to schedule

EMDR intensives combine somatic, holistic, and evidence-based approaches to help you process what your nervous system has been holding onto for far too long.

Who Do I Work Best With?

Are you driven, ambitious, creative, and curious? Were you the student who was always praised for being "a pleasure to have in class," while secretly battling constant anxiety? Does most of your attention go towards ensuring everyone else is okay, leaving no room for your own needs?

Perhaps you yearn to speak up about what matters to you or to have a relationship where you feel truly safe and loved, but it feels it’s impossible to have what you want. You can’t get out of your head that you’re not worthy. Maybe believe you can have success in your career, but there’s no way you can actually have what you want in your relationships.

If this resonates with you, you're not alone.

I would love to support you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy in Massachusetts

  • EMDR therapy intensives range from 3-5 hours per day over 1-3 days. Before scheduling your intensive, Rachel will meet with you for a 90-minute assessment session to discuss which length is right for you goals.

  • Intensives can be just as effective as weekly therapy and take less than half the time. The space and time of therapy intensives provide accelerated, deeper healing that help you get to the root causes of your symptoms for long-term healing.

  • You can travel to Rachel Duvall Psychotherapy office for therapy intensives. EMDR therapy intensives and therapy retreats are offered in Great Barrington, MA in the Berkshires, close to Lenox, Boston, and New York City. For online intensives or EMDR therapy, clients must be in Massachusetts or Florida at the time of the session.

  • At Rachel Duvall Psychotherapy, individual therapy rates are $275 a session.

You can see all of pricing information, here.

  • While EMDR therapy is effective for many individuals, it may not be suitable for everyone. Those with certain psychiatric conditions such as active psychosis or active substance abuse may not be good candidates for EMDR therapy. It's essential to consult with a qualified therapist to determine if EMDR therapy is appropriate for your specific needs and circumstances. Schedule a consultation with Rachel to see if EMDR therapy is a appropriate for you.

  • Your first therapy session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know each other and discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. During this session, your therapist will likely ask you about your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. You can expect your therapist to create a safe and supportive environment where you can openly express yourself without judgment. Additionally, your therapist may provide information about their approach to therapy and answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. Overall, the first therapy session is a collaborative experience aimed at building rapport and establishing a foundation for your therapeutic journey.

  • Rachel is an “out of network” provider. Simply put, this means she does not directly accept insurance. You can, however, check your insurance benefits below using the Mentaya calculator to get an estimate of your reimbursement rate using a superbill.

  • This will depend on a lot of different factors, including the symptoms you have the level of severity, etc. However, EMDR has been found to be most effective, with a shorter overall treatment time, if done in longer sessions (from 90-minutes up to 3-5 hours). With EMDR intensives you get similar results in days or weeks of therapy instead of months or years of weekly therapy. Learn more about EMDR intensives here.

  • Rachel will help you determine the best length and frequency of EMDR therapy sessions in your consultation. For most, a minimum of 90-minute sessions, weekly for 3 months is what is recommended. After that, most clients can move to bi-weekly sessions. If you decide on an intensive approach, clients generally do not return for further sessions unless they experience another crisis or different symptoms emerge that require treatment.

  • An example of the typical client coming in for EMDR therapy is someone struggling with persistent anxiety. They find themselves constantly anxious, tense, with difficulty sleeping, and conflicts in their relationships. With the EMDR approach we’d begin by understanding the clients triggers and underlying negative beliefs, and then work on reprocessing the connected memories that are the root-cause of the anxiety symptoms.
