Clinical Focus - EMDR Therapy and Anxiety
The clients I work with come to me feeling anxious, burnt out and alone. They’re struggling with their relationships and figuring out who they are and where they fit. Life is exhausting, as they second-guess every word that comes out of their mouth. The noise of everyone else’s expectations makes it impossible to sort out what they really want. With a compassionate and playful approach, we will break down your fears while uncovering what gives you strength, what lights you up, and what helps you feel better now.
I’m a social worker, psychotherapist, and recovering people-pleaser passionate about helping women, young adults, and parents overcome anxiety, self-doubt, shame, and trauma. I remember vividly the pressures that came with growing up as a girl in a religious community in the south. The pressure to be “good” was strong. The fears of disappointing others and “getting it wrong” kept me stuck for years. I know how scary it can feel to go against what other people think you “should” do.
As a working-mother I understand the ridiculous pressures placed on us as women to do all the things without expressing anything but gratitude and positivity. Motherhood was not what I expected and again I felt that pressure to be “good,” no matter what. Therapy gave me the permission and safety to connect to my truth and what I really wanted in life. It taught me it was okay to admit I was not okay and allow others to help me. I learned how to release shame and embrace true self-compassion for the first time.
I want to provide that space to my clients so they can feel free to share every part of themselves. All emotions are welcome! This work allows me to bring together all of the parts of life I enjoy most; being present with other human beings in their pain and joys, collaborating with others tell to their story and ultimately helping them connect with hope and possibility.

My Education & Training
I have a Masters of Fine Arts in Acting as well as a Masters in Social Work. Even though I technically left my acting career, I would never take back the experiences and wisdom I gained from the theater world. Theater people are some of the best collaborators, problem-solvers and listeners out there. I still passionately believe in the power of witnessing someone else’ story. I bring from my work in the arts a love of play, spontaneity, and collaboration. As a social worker, I’m committed to social justice work and being a part of undoing oppressive systems and recreating a world that serves all people.
